Dr. Muhammad Farooq Asghar has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of internal medicine and will work as an SIU hospitalist.

Asghar completed his residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo., (2010).  He earned his medical degree at King Edward Medical College (2003) and was on medical staff at Shafi Medical Center, both in Lahore, Pakistan.

He is board certified in internal medicine.

A native of Pakistan, Asghar is married to Dr. Geet Ara Cheema.
