Theresa M. Boley, M.S.N.



Theresa M. Boley, M.S.N., Boley has joined the faculty of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an instructor of clinical surgery in the division of cardiothoracic surgery.  [Note:  She has since been promoted to assistant professor of surgery.]

Previously Boley was a researcher in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Missouri (1981-93), head nurse of the surgical unit at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics, both in Columbia (1980-81), director and education coordinator of nursing services and staff nurse/charge nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Marceline, Mo. (1977-80), and staff nurse/charge nurse at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Mo. (1976-77).  She also was adjunct faculty for the University of Missouri School of Nursing in Columbia.

Boley earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing at the University of Missouri at Columbia (1990, 1986) and her associate’s degree in nursing at Trenton Junior College in Trenton, Mo. (1976).

Boley is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.  She is certified by the American Stroke Association, Society of Clinical Research Associates and American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner.

Boley is a native of Chillicothe, Mo.  She and her husband, Gary, have three children.
