Dr. Gregory P. Brandt Dr. Gregory Brandt portrait joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1995.  He is an associate professor of pediatrics and chair of the hematology/oncology division.  He was previously an instructor in pediatrics at St. Louis University (SLU) School of Medicine (1991-92).

Brandt completed a fellowship in hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplant at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati (1995).  He completed his residency in pediatrics and earned his medical degree at SLU (1991, 1988).  He earned his bachelor’s at the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. (1983).

Brandt is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Board of Medical Examiners.  He is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group, American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.  His current research interest is on improving the outlook for adolescents and young adults with malignancies through clinical trial participation.
