Lucinda S. Buescher, M.D., has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of dermatology. [Note: She has since been promoted to associate professor.}

Previously, she was in private practice in Springfield for two years and was a volunteer faculty member at the medical school.

Buescher earned her bachelor's and medical degrees at the University of Missouri-Columbia (1982, 1986). She also completed her dermatology residency at Missouri (1990).

Buescher is certified as a diplomate by the American Board of Dermatology and the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the Women's Dermatological Association and Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical society.

A native of Ames, lowa, Buescher is married to Keith L. Buescher, Ph.D., and has one child.
