Dr. Reginald T. Bulkley has been named chair of the anesthesia department at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He succeeds Dr. Ralph Glasser, who has served as chair since 1998.

Bulkley has been a staff anesthesiologist at Memorial Medical Center since 1987 as well as a volunteer faculty member at SIU.

Bulkley earned combined medical and bachelor's degrees at University of Missouri in Kansas City (1983). He completed his anesthesia residency as well as a fellowship in neuroanesthesia at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland (1986, 1987).

He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Malignant Hyperthermia Association of the United States.

Born in St. Louis and a native of Kansas City, Bulkley has two daughters, Andrea and Audrey.
