Dr. Robert A. Buzzell joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1993.  He is an assistant professor of dermatology.  Previously he was on the faculty of St. Louis University (SLU) School of Medicine (1990-93).

Buzzell completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn. (1993).  He completed a residency in dermatology at University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia and a residency in internal medicine at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis (1990, 1987).  He earned his medical degree at SLU and his bachelor’s at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J. (1984, 1980).

Buzzell is board certified in dermatology and internal medicine.  His memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and Society for Investigative Dermatology.  He also is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
