Michael W. Collard, Ph.D., joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Carbondale in 1993 and currently is an associate professor of physiology.

Previously, he was a research assistant professor of molecular biology and toxicology at Utah State University in Logan (1991-93). He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (1989-91) and at the Vollum Institute of Advanced Biomedical Research in Portland, Ore. (1987-89).

Collard earned his doctorate at Washington State University in Pullman (1987) and his bachelor's at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City (1981).


His research interests are cancer, epigenetics, mouse knockouts, testis, gene expression, signal transduction, tumor suppressors, genomic imprinting and fetal development. Collard has published more than 20 journal articles.
