Dr. Rod C. Curtis Dr. Rod Curtis portrait joined the faculty in internal medicine and psychiatry at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1999.  He currently is assistant professor and serves as chief of the developmental disabilities division.

He completed his residency in medicine-psychiatry at SIU (1999).  He earned his medical degree from Medical University of Pecs in Pecs, Hungary (1992).  He previously was a telemetry technician (1981-85) and a laboratory technician (1979-81) at Long Beach Community Hospital in Long Beach, Calif.

Curtis is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American College of Physicians, American Association on Mental Retardation and the National Association for Dually Diagnosed.  His interests include assessing functional decline and osteoporosis and spinal cord disease in people with developmental disabilities.
