Judith K. Davie, Ph.D., Judith Davie portrait has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Carbondale as an assistant professor in biochemistry and molecular biology.  She also is a member of the new research team at the SimmonsCooper Cancer Institute at SIU. 

Most recently, Davie was on the research faculty at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston (2004-06), where she also completed an American Cancer Society postdoctoral fellowship (1998-2004). 

Davie earned her doctoral degree in molecular and cell biology at the University of California in Berkley (1998) and her bachelor’s degree at Auburn University in Auburn, Ala. (1992). 

She has published more than 10 papers on her research interest in gene regulation. 

A native of Virginia, Davie is the daughter of Jim and Diane Davie and is married to Rod Weilbaecher.
