February 27, 2003 Patricia J. Davis has been named a student counselor at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She will work with the executive assistant for diversity in the Office of the Dean and Provost. She is responsible for providing counseling services to all students, with an emphasis on assisting underrepresented and disadvantaged students. Previously, Davis was at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as a public service administrator, child welfare supervisor and administrator of adolescent services, working in Springfield and Moline (1985-2002). She previously held positions in teaching, social services and financial administration (1968-85). She also was an adjunct professor in social work at the University of Iowa (1985-86). Davis earned a master's of social work from the University of Iowa in Iowa City (1983) and her bachelor's degree at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio (1968). Davis and her husband, Robert Davis, have two sons and a daughter and three grandchildren. - 30 - |
