Dr. Bill Dixon biography

William Dixon, MD, has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in Quincy. He is also a member of SIU HealthCare, the medical school’s practice group.

Dixon has most recently been a hospitalist for CogentHMG at Blessing Hospital in Quincy (2011-14). Prior to that, he worked in family medicine and the emergency department at Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Mo. (2004-11).

Dixon completed his residency in family medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (2004).  He earned his medical degree and bachelor’s of liberal arts through a combined degree program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City (2001).

Dixon is certified in basic life support/advanced cardiac life support, advanced trauma life support, pediatric advanced life support, neonatal resuscitation, S.T.A.B.L.E. Neonatal Transport, and is board certified in family medicine.

Dixon and his wife, Ann, live in Mendon with their three children.
