Dr. Lanie Eagleton joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1976 as chief of pulmonology. He retired in 1999 as a professor emeritus of internal medicine.
Eagleton completed a residency in pulmonary medicine at Bellevue Hospital in New York City (1974) and a residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia Hospitals in Charlottesville (1970). He earned his medical degree at Harvard University School of Medicine in Boston, Mass. (1967) and his bachelor’s from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. (1963).
Eagleton is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Sleep Disorders Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Thoracic Society and the Illinois Lung Association. He is author of more than 20 professional publications and has served as principal investigator on 10 research projects.
