Dr. Krishna A. Rao, Ph.D.,
has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University
School of Medicine as an assistant professor of hematology and oncology. He
has research and clinical experience in both bone marrow and peripheral blood
stem cell transplants and breast cancer. [Note: He has since been promoted to associate professor of internal medicine.]
Previously, he was at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Wash., where he completed a four-year fellowship in hematology and medical oncology (1998).
Rao completed his internal medicine residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minn. (1994). He just completed a doctorate in pathology at the University of Washington in Seattle (2002). He earned both his bachelor's and his medical degrees at the University of Miami (1986, 1991).
He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology.
