Dr. Christopher L. Gleason Dr. Christopher Gleason portrait has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an associate professor of family and community medicine.

Previously, he was acting associate director of the McNeal Family Practice Residency Program in Berwyn, Ill., (1998-99) and family medicine clerkship director for the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine (1996-99).

Gleason earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry at the University of Illinois (UI) in Urbana (1987) and his medical degree at UI College of Medicine at Chicago (1991). He completed his family practice residency at Berwyn (1994) and a Cook County Faculty Development Fellowship (part-time) (1994-95).

He is board certified in family practice and a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.

A native of Carlinville, Gleason is married to Susan Gleason and has two sons, Connor and Michael. He is the son of the late William D. Gleason and Carol Paul.
