Kanako Hayashi, Ph.D.,
has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Carbondale as a research assistant professor in physiology.
She comes to SIU from Texas A & M University where she was on faculty in the animal science department (2005-08). She also completed one-year fellowship and an internal grant project in reproductive biology at Texas (2003-04, 2006-07).
Hayashi earned her doctoral degree at Iwate University in Japan (2002) and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees at Obihiro University in Japan (1999, 1997).
She has published 27 peer-reviewed on her research interest of uterine biology. She is a member of Society for the Study of Reproduction.
Hayashi is married to James A. MacLean II, Ph.D., also on SIU’s physiology faculty in Carbondale.
