Chaitanya Mamillapalli, M.D., has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine as an assistant professor of internal medicine. He also is a member of SIU HealthCare, the medical school’s practice group, and will provide endocrinology care at its clinic in Springfield.
Mamillapalli completed fellowship training in endocrinology at SIU in Springfield in 2012. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisc. (2010). He also completed his internal medicine residency and obtained an MRCP degree in West Yorkshire, U.K. (2002, 2006). He earned his medical degree at Guntur Medical College in Andhra Pradesh, India (2001).
Mamillapalli is board certified in internal medicine and is in the process of obtaining subspecialty certification in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. He is a member of The Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinolgists and American Thyroid Association. His research interests include hospital diabetes management and thyroid disorders.
Dr. Mamillapalli and his wife, Dr. Swapna Nekkanti, live in Springfield, with their two children.
