Dr. Mohammad Mobayed has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of internal medicine, specializing in hematology/oncology.   He also is a member of SIU HealthCare, the medical school’s practice group.

Mobayed recently completed a three-year fellowship in hematology/oncology at Wayne State University in Detroit (2011), where he also completed his internal medicine residency (2008).  He earned his medical degree at Damascus University School of Medicine in Syria (2004).

Mobayed is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American Association for Cancer Research.  He has been published in several professional journals.
