Dr. Colleen M. [Johnson] Moore* has joined the faculty at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of surgery. She specializes in the surgical management of vascular diseases, including cerebrovascular, aortic aneurysms and peripheral vascular disease. She also has an interest in the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins and venous disorders. (*Note: She has married since joining the faculty.)
Moore completed a two-year fellowship in vascular surgery and her general surgery residency at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia, Mo. (2005, 2003). She received combined bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Mo. (1994, 1996).
Moore is board certified in general surgery and eligible in vascular surgery and is a certified instructor in advanced trauma life support. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons Associate Group, American Medical Association Political Action Committee and Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society.
Her research interests include aortic aneurysms and minimally invasive therapies for vascular diseases.
Born in Augusta, Ga., Moore is the daughter of Florence L. Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
