Dr. Daniel J. Niebrugge Dr. Daniel Niebrugge portrait has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of pediatrics, specializing in pediatric oncology.

Previously, he was a partner at Pediatrics Northwest in Tacoma, Wash., (1983-2004) and on the staff at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, part of the international Children’s Oncology Group (2003-04). He served as medical director for Camp Goodtime in Vashon Island, Wash. (1983-2004) and Big Sky Kids in Bozeman, Mont. (1990-2004).

Niebrugge completed his pediatric residency at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, Mo. (1980) and completed a two-year fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Children’s Hospital and Health Center in Seattle, Wash. (1982). He earned his medical degree at SIU School of Medicine (1977) and his bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (1973).

He is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

A native of Effingham, Ill., Niebrugge is married to Leslie Niebrugge and has three children.
