Dr. Timothy T. Ott has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of family and community medicine. He is on the medical staff of SIU’s Family Practice Center in Quincy.
Ott was in private practice in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, Penn., for the last 21 years, most recently in private practice in Mt. Lebanon (2003-10). He was one of the founding members of Preferred Primary Care Physicians Inc. and also worked for Chartiers Valley Medical Center and UPMC-Community Medicine. He was on staff at St. Clair Memorial Hospital for 20 years and served as chairman of its Department of Family Medicine (1999-2009).
Ott completed his family medicine residency at Forbes Family Practice Residency in Monroeville, Penn. (1989). He earned his osteopathic medicine degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (1986) and his bachelor's at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Penn. (1982).
Ott is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. He is a member of American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Osteopathic Family Physicians and American College of Physician Executives.
Ott is a native of New Castle, Ind., but lived most of his life in southwestern Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Chrystal, have three children.
