Robert M. Patino has joined Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as director of the technology transfer office.
Patino has been a patent attorney in Springfield for several years and previously worked as a law clerk and patent agent with Greer, Burns and Crain in Chicago (2002-04). His previous experience includes jobs with Monsanto Life Science Company in Muscatine, Iowa (1997-98), Iowa State Space Program in Iowa City (1996-98), and Accenture/Anderson Consulting in Chicago (1999-2000).
A native of Springfield, Patino earned his law degree at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago (2003) and his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at the University of Iowa in Iowa City (1998).
He is a member of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the Sangamon County Bar Association and the chairman for the Jamie Patino Math and Science Scholarship offered at Springfield Southeast High School. He also is a board member for the Government Bar Association and on the advisory board for the Springfield Illinois Technology Enterprise Center.
