Gary P. Pezall has joined the staff at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as executive director of capitol planning and service operations. He is responsible for managing the School’s engineering, environmental safety and security, and support services units.
Pezall comes to SIU with 29 years of combined experience in facilities, construction project and consulting engineering management, most recently as operations administrator of facilities services at Mayo Clinic and at St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. (1990-2006).
Previously, Pezall was a vice president at Evans & Hammond Consulting Engineers in Jacksonville, project design engineer at Van Wagnen and Searcy Consulting Engineers in Jacksonville, and HVAC junior designer and mechanical design engineer at Donahue & Associates Consulting Engineers in Madison, Wis.
He earned his bachelor’s degree at University of Wisconsin in Madison (1975).
Pezall is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers, American Hospital Association, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and is a registered engineer in Florida.
A native of Milwaukee, he and his wife, Traci R. Pezall, have two children.
