Dr. William G. Pyle has joined the faculty at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery. He practices all aspects of cardiothoracic surgery.

Prior to joining SIU, he was in private practice in Springfield (1989-2004).

Pyle completed fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery (1989) and vascular surgery (1987) at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He completed his residency in general surgery at SIU School of Medicine and earned his medical degree from SIU (1986, 1981).

Pyle is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery.
