David S. Resch, M.D., has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of internal medicine and psychiatry. [Note: He has since been promoted to associate professor.]
This summer he completed his psychiatry residency and a two-month fellowship in general internal medicine at the University of lowa, lowa City. Previously, Resch served as chief of residents for SIU (1990-91).
Resch earned his bachelor's degree in biology at Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, (1982) and completed both his medical degree and internal medicine residency at SIU (1986, 1990).
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Psychiatric Association, the American College of Physician Executives and Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical society. His areas of interest include psychiatric care in primary practice and the interface of medicine and psychiatry.
A native of Park Ridge, III., Resch is married to Mary (Cushing) Resch and has three children.
