Most recently he was on the faculty of the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago (2002-08) and previously was on the faculty at SIU (1999-2002) and Chicago Medical School (1997-99). He also served as acting director of clinical services and deputy clinical director of forensic services (2007-08, 2006-08) both for the Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Mental Health Services.
Robinson completed a one-year fellowship in forensic psychiatry at New York University in New York City (1997). He completed his general psychiatry residency at University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago (1996). He earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana-Champaign (1992) and his bachelor’s degree at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington (1986).
He is board certified in general psychiatry and in forensic psychiatry. Robinson is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and serves as a medical examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
