Dr. Marsha Ryan is an assistant professor of
general surgery at the Southern Illinois University School of
Medicine. She practices all aspects of general surgery and has a
special interest in treatment of breast cancer. Her office is in
Carbondale, Illinois, at 120 N. Illinois Avenue.
Dr. Ryan earned her bachelor’s degree in 1968
from Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She earned
her medical degree in 1972 from the University of Oklahoma School of
Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She completed her general
surgery residency from the University of Missouri Hospitals in
Columbia, Missouri in 1978. Dr. Ryan completed her degree in law
from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale,
Illinois in 1987, and was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1988.
Dr. Ryan’s professional affiliations include
fellowships in the American College of Surgeons and theAmerican
College of Legal Medicine, and memberships in the Society of
American Gastroenterologic Surgeons and the American Society of Law
and Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
