Ramzi Souki, M.D., has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of pediatrics. He will provide cardiology care in the pediatrics clinic in Springfield. He also is a member of SIU HealthCare, the medical school’s practice group.

Souki completed his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the University of Pittsburgh/Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC (2012) and Washington University/Saint Louis Children’s Hospital (2013). He completed a pediatric residency at SUNY Upstate University in Syracuse, N.Y. (2009). He earned his medical degree, master’s degree in biochemistry and bachelor’s in biology at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon (2003, 2006, 1999).

Souki is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. His research interests include the genetic determinants of congenital heart disease.

Souki and his wife, Maya, live in Springfield.
