Dr. Vidya Sundareshan Dr. Vidya Sundareshan portrait has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of internal medicine, specializing in infectious diseases.

Sundareshan completed a two-year infectious disease fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington (2008) and her internal medicine residency at SIU School of Medicine (2006).  She earned her master’s degree in public health at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Baltimore (2001) and her bachelor’s at Ambedkar Medical College in Bangalore, India (1998).

Sundareshan is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in infectious diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  Her memberships include the American College of Physicians, the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the HIV Medical Association.

A native of India, she is married to Dr. Raj Sreedhar, who is an assistant professor of pulmonary and critical care medicine at SIU School of Medicine.
