Dr. Vajeeha Tabassum has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of internal medicine.

Tabassum completed a one-year fellowship in geriatric medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond (2010) and her residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (2009).  She earned her medical degree at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College in Bangalore, India (2002).

A native of India, Tabassum is married to Dr. Fazlur Rahman and they have a daughter, Nyla, who is a toddler.
