Dr. Anna Tumyan has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of internal medicine, specializing in rheumatology. She also is a member of SIU HealthCare, the medical school’s practice group.

Tumyan completed a fellowship in rheumatology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston (2012). She completed an internal medicine residency at SIU School of Medicine (2010) and a diagnostic radiology residency at the National Institute of Health in Yerevan, Armenia (2001). Tumyan worked as a quality lab associate for Baxter Healthcare in Los Angeles (2004-07) and as a radiologist at the Center of Traumatology & Orthopedic Surgery in Yerevan, Armenia (2001). She earned her medical degree at Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia (1999).

Tumyan is board certified in internal medicine. Her research interests include rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.
