Dr. Peter White Dr. Peter White portrait has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as a professor of internal medicine, specializing in pulmonary medicine.          

Previously White was on the faculty at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock (1998-2006) and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (1992-98). 

White completed a three-year fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and an internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (1992, 1989).  He earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia (1986) and bachelor's at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio (1981).

He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine.  He is a member of the American Thoracic Society and has published 55 journal articles, abstracts and book chapters.

White is married to Susan White and has three children.
