SIU Med School Names CME Director
Laura S. Worrall has been named director of continuing medical education (CME) at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She succeeds Ann Ogden Hamilton who has retired after 30 years at SIU, 15 as CME director.
Worrall joined the CME staff at SIU in 1999 and was promoted to assistant director in 2007. She previously worked in retail in Springfield (1996-99), co-owned a music studio in Charleston (1991-96) and was an extension agent for Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service in Connersville, Ind. (1985-91).
Worrall earned her master’s degree at Indiana State University in Terre Haute (1983) and her bachelor’s at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston (1982). Her memberships include the Illinois Alliance for Continuing Medical Education and the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education.
A native of Charleston, Worrall is married to Paul Worrall and has two stepchildren. Her parents are Dave and Alice Jayne Swickard of Rochester.
