Ronald F. Zec, Ph.D., Ronald Zec, Ph.D., portrait joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1984.  He is an associate professor of psychiatry and neurology. 

Zec earned his doctorate at the University of Kansas (UK) in Lawrence (1977).  He earned his master’s degree at UK (1975) and his bachelor’s at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. (1971).

Zec is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology, the American Board of Professional Psychiatry and the American College of Forensic Examiners.   He is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Neuropsychiatric Association, International Neuropsychology Society, Society of Neuroscience and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.  

His research interests include the neuropsychology of normal and abnormal aging, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, major depressive disorder and closed head injury.
