Shelda I. Borders, Ph.D.,
has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry, specializing in psycho-oncology. She also is a member of SIU HealthCare, the medical school’s practice group.
Borders recently completed a post-doctoral fellowship in psycho-oncology at SIU (2011). She completed her doctorate in counseling psychology at Texas Tech University in Lubbock (2010), where she also earned her master’s in psychology (2008). Borders completed a pre-doctoral internship at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee (2010). She earned her bachelor’s in psychology at Anderson University in Anderson, Ind. (2004).
A native of Indianapolis, Ind., she is married to Brent Borders and has one child.
