Dr. Jon O. Humphrey joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2007 as an assistant professor of family and community medicine in Carbondale, specializing in sports medicine. He also is associate director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship and a team physician for John A. Logan College and the Southern Illinois Minors baseball team.
He previously was on staff at St. Mary’s at the Waupan Area Clinic in Wisconsin (2001-06).
Humphrey completed SIU’s one-year sports medicine fellowship (2007). He completed his family practice residency at SIU’s Springfield program and earned his medical degree at SIU (2000, 1997). He earned his bachelor’s degree at SIU-Carbondale in exercise science (1990).
Humphrey is board certified in family medicine and has added certification in sports medicine (CAQSM). He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine and American Academy of Family Physicians.
A native of DuQuoin, Humphrey and his wife, Dr. Andrea Humphrey, assistant professor of clinical and family medicine, have two children.
