Dr. Anoosh Salman has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of child and adolescent psychiatry. She also is a member of SIU HealthCare, the medical school’s practice group.
Salman recently completed a two-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at SIU (2011). She completed her psychiatry residency at Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, N.J. (2009) and her medical degree at Sindh Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan (1992). Salman completed her graduate degree (H.S.S.C.) at Saint Joseph’s College for Women (1985).
Salman is board eligible and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Her interests are post traumatic stress disorder, mood disorders and substance abuse in children and adolescents.
A native of Pakistan, she is married to Dr. Salman Sheikh and has three children.
