An outreach effort of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Hometown Housecall brings quality medical information into your home.  While learning more about important health issues, you also get a closer look about SIU School of Medicine.  

Host Dr. Stuart Frank, a cardiologist and professor emeritus of internal medicine, introduces you to medical and health topics.  Each program has several segments covering different topics.

Hometown Housecall airs on two PBS stations in Illinois - (check local listings) 

• WILL-TV 11 a.m. on the last Sunday of each month (Scheduled times)
• WSIU-TV and WUSI-TV 3:30 p.m. every Sunday (Scheduled times)

This sixth season of programs is funded by the SimmonsCooper Cancer Institute at SIU (SCCI), the School of Medicine's Rural Health Initiative and Office of the Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs.  It is produced by SIU's Educational Media Group (EMG).

The series was honored with a Bronze Telly Award in the 2007 national competition.  A Telly Award is the premier award honoring outstanding TV commercials and programs as well as video and film productions.All Hometown Housecall programs are available for purchase on DVD or VHS for $19.95 each.
