SIU Med School Announces Scholarship Awards
Five medical students have received Alumni Scholarship awards at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The awards are given annually to third- or fourth-year medical students. All of this year’s recipients are fourth-year students.
Jennifer Davis, daughter of Charles and Catherine Davis of Rochester, earned her bachelor’s degree from SIU Carbondale (1999) and a master’s from the University of Illinois Springfield (2004).
Kristina Lynch, daughter of Linda Flynn of Chatham, earned her bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College in Memphis (2008).
Reem Nubani, daughter of Yaser and Nuha Nubani of Chicago, earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago (2003) and her master’s from Rush University in Chicago (2005).
Alison Saulog, daughter of Pete and Lita Saulog of Salem, earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2008).
Stephanie Suprenant, daughter of Kim Stuth of Bourbonnais, earned her bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais in (2006) and a master’s from Columbia University in New York (2009).
The Alumni Scholarship was established by the charter Class of 1976 as a gift in honor of its 25th reunion. The Class of 1977 followed the lead of the previous class in supporting the fund with reunion gifts. Alumni from all classes contribute to the scholarship annually, increasing the availability of funds.
Financial gifts support the growth of the School of Medicine through scholarships, education, patient care and research.
