“Denim & Diamonds” Cancer Institute Event Focuses on Research and Patient Comforts
The Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU (SCI) is hosting its 11th “Denim and Diamonds” fundraiser Saturday, October 22nd. The funds raised will support innovative research projects as well as enhance patient comforts. Funds raised at the event stay in downstate Illinois communities.
Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest denim or formal attire for the event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 3000 S. Dirksen Parkway, Springfield. This year’s theme is “Gold Rush to a Cure.” Tickets are $125 per person or $1,250 for a table of 10 and are available by calling 217-545-2955.
The presenting sponsor is The Simmons Law Firm. Touch-pad bidding will again be available for the silent auction, which will provide greater convenience and faster processing. Both the live and silent auctions will include gourmet dinners, sporting event tickets, original artwork, vacation homes, one-of-a-kind jewelry and much more.
