SIU Names Director of Telehealth Networks and Programs

Glenn Groesch has been appointed director of Telehealth Networks and Programs at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.  He will direct the use of advanced technologies such as video conferencing to improve health-care access in downstate Illinois.

Groesch joined SIU School of Medicine in 2008 as the Telehealth Technology Manager. He previously spent 21 years as a U.S. Navy Officer, specializing in military operations and joint military distance education.  Groesch retired as a Navy Commander.

He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale Ill., and a master’s in strategic studies from the College of Naval Command and Staff at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, R.I. Groesch received a master’s in business administration from Salve Regina University in Newport.  He currently is pursuing a master’s in information management systems from Harvard University Extension in Cambridge, Mass.

Groesch is a member of the American Telehealth Association (ATA).

He lives in Springfield with his wife and their two sons.
