SIU Med School Sponsors Ethnic Heritage Day for Argentina
An Ethnic Heritage Day celebration featuring Argentine culture will be held Monday, March 25 at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Pearson Museum (second floor), 801 N. Rutledge St., Springfield.
The program includes a presentation, “Living in America: Perspective of a Biomedical Researcher and Educator from Argentina,” by Julio Copello, Ph.D., associate professor of pharmacology at SIU. There also will be samples of Argentine foods and a display of artifacts.
Ethnic Heritage Day celebrations are held regularly at the medical school to share information about various ethnic cultures. The events are organized by SIU’s Diversity, Multicultural and Minority Affairs office.
