SIU Med School Announces Hull Scholarship

Dax Volle, a first-year medical student, has received a monetary award from the Hull Scholarship at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

Volle, son of Tracy and Lennie Volle of Golconda, is a graduate of Hardin County High School in Elizabeth (2008), Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg with an associate’s degree in biology (2010) and Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in geology (2012).

The William E. and Delores Hull Health Professions Scholarship was established in 1998 by their daughter, Dr. Sharon Hull of Akron, Ohio, a graduate of the Class of 1987 and former faculty member of SIU School of Medicine. William Hull’s life was devoted to education for more than 40 years. He served as a teacher, educational administrator and board member in Michigan and southern Illinois. The scholarship is awarded to a student who has completed coursework at Southeastern Illinois College.
