SIU medical school names student class officers

Medical students at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield and Carbondale have been elected to leadership positions as officers, representatives and committee members for the 2013-14 school year.

Established in 1970, SIU School of Medicine assists the people of central and southern Illinois in meeting their health needs through education, patient care, research and community service. Its website is www.siumed.edu and its main number is 217-545-8000.

 

SIU School of Medicine Class of 2014 Officers

Richard Austin, son of Rick and Chris Austin of Springfield, was elected chair of the senior class.

Douglas Juvinall, son of Mike and Diana Juvinall of East Peoria, was elected vice chair of the senior class.

Terah Cheatham, daughter of Craig and Julie Cheatham of Polo, was elected secretary of the senior class.

Rachel Day, daughter of Gary Day of Champaign and Alice Day of Benton, Ky., was elected treasurer of the senior class.

Jonathan Ken, son of Charles and Ting-wei Ken of Bloomington, was elected as class representative to the student general assembly.

Jacob Parke, son of Brian and Karina Parke of St. Joseph, was elected as class representative to the student general assembly.

SIU School of Medicine Class of 2014 Committee Members

Katherine McKenna, daughter of Patrick and Linda McKenna of Springfield, was elected to serve on the admissions committee.

Christopher Miedema, son of Paul and Imelda Miedema of Springfield, was elected to the community service committee and to serve as volunteer coordinator for the class.

Lisa Boucek, daughter of Robert and Sue Boucek of Champaign, was elected to serve on the doctoring committee.

Kathryne Sanserino, daughter of Steve and Casey Sanserino of Ft. Wayne, Ind., was elected to serve on the information management policy committee.

Daniel Sadowski, son of John and Victoria Sadowski of LaSalle, was elected to serve on the library advisory committee.

Joseph Raab, son of Dan and Mary Raab of Taylorville, was elected to the parking committee.

Jonathan Ken, son of Charles and Ting-wei Ken of Bloomington, was elected to the traffic appeals committee.

Jacob Varney, son of Dr. Andrew and Carol Varney of Springfield, was elected to serve on the Year 4 curriculum committee.

Kirk Thompson, son of Jay and Kristie Thompson of Harrisburg, was elected to serve on the Year 3 curriculum committee.

Bryan Kidd, son of Rick and Nancy Kidd of St. Joseph, was elected chair of the junior class.

Katherine Lowry, daughter of John and Gail Lowry of Humboldt, was elected vice-chair of the junior class.

Michael Gibson, son of David and Loretta Gibson of Bloomington, was elected secretary of the junior class.

Rachel Wang, daughter of David and LiJuan Wang of Peoria, was elected treasurer of the junior class.

Mykel Sepula, daughter of Cindy Sepula of Beecher, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Rustin Meister, son of Ron and Diane Meister of Urbana, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Emily Perkins, daughter of Matt and Beth Seals of Ellery, was elected as a member of the Organization of Student Representatives.

Tim Daugherty, son of Mike and Cris Daugherty of Decatur, was elected to serve on the admissions committee.

Kathryn Filson, daughter of Bur Filson of Jacksonville and Cindy Davis-Blair of Springfield, was elected to serve on the doctoring committee.

Andrew Mitchelson, son of Randy and Kathryn Mitchelson of Taylorville, was elected to serve on the educational policy committee.

Brad Dyniewski, son of Stan and Nancy Dyniewski of Hebron, Ind., was elected to serve on the information management policy committee.

Lyndsey Heise, daughter of Michael Heise of Sheffield and Angela Hathaway of Galva, was elected to serve on the library advisory committee.

Jared Mitchell, son of Jerry and Brenda Mitchell of Eldorado, was elected to serve on the student progress committee.

Whitney Thorpe-Klinsky, daughter of Dr. Robert Klinsky and Dr. Charissa Thorpe of New Baden, was elected to serve as volunteer coordinator for the class.

Karen Bertels, daughter of Gerald and Phyllis Philabaun of Edwardsville, was elected to serve on the Year 4 curriculum committee.

Kelli Kreher, daughter of Ken and Lori Kreher of Freeburg, was elected to serve on the Year 3 curriculum committee.

Michael Clanahan, son of James and Lynne Clanahan of Swansea, was elected chair of the sophomore class.

Ashley Norton, daughter of Richard and Cindy Norton of Brimfield, was elected vice chair of the sophomore class.

Kathryn Blanquart, daughter of Deb Blanquart of Belleville, was elected secretary of the sophomore class.

Cindy Gregory, daughter of Gean and Eleanor Gregory of Alhambra, was elected treasurer of the sophomore class.

Jordan Myhre, son of Gery and Teresa Myhre of Aurora, Co., was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Maddelynn Hawkins, daughter of Casey Hawkins of Cutler and Wayne Hawkins of Pinckneyville, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Jessica Stout, daughter of Marcy Stout of Edinburg, Michael Stout of Rochester and the late Debra Stout, was elected as a member of the Organization of Student Representatives.

Phillip Knouse, son of Doug and Cheryl Knouse of Mount Olive, was elected to serve on the admissions committee.

Travis Healey, son of Terry and Kelly Healey of Brighton, was elected to serve on the doctoring committee.

Ashley Satorius, daughter of Jim Satorius and Marsha Satorius both of Petersburg, was elected to serve on the educational policy committee.

Adam Cross, son of Gary and Kim Cross of Heyworth, was elected to serve on the information management policy committee.

Isaac Tan, son of Nehemiah and Evangeline Tan of Mt. Zion, was elected to serve on the library advisory committee.

Robert Gregory, son of Bob Gregory of Staunton, was elected to serve on the parking committee.

April McNeill, daughter of Mamie Batts of Fayetteville, N.C. and the late Milton McNeill, was elected to serve on the student progress committee.

Alex Rockwell, son of Richard and Jean Rockwell of Smithton, was elected to serve on the traffic appeals committee.

Kate Swaggerty, daughter of Lee and Terri Swaggerty of Springfield, was elected to serve as volunteer coordinator for the class.

Jerry Miller, son of Gary and Cecilia Miller of Rantoul, was elected to serve on the year two curriculum committee.

Brian Tillis, son of William and Kelly Tillis of Peoria, was elected to serve on the year one curriculum committee.

Max Nutt, son of Mike and Andrea Nutt of Springfield, was elected chair of the first year class.

Ben Voss, son of Ron and Diane Voss of Mascoutah, was elected vice chair of the first year class.

Shawn Curry, son of Larry and Marta Curry of Bridgeport, was elected secretary of the first year class.

Erik Wright, son of Mark and Mary Jo Wright of Mascoutah, was elected treasurer of the first year class.

Benjamin Beggs, son of Samuel and Mary Beggs of Harrisburg, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Kyle Morgenstern, son of David and Becki Morgenstern of East Peoria, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Brock Kabat, son of Mark and Lori Kabat of Scheller, was elected as a member of the Organization of Student Representatives.

Evyn Neumeister, daughter of Dr. Michael and Nadine Neumeister of Springfield, was elected to serve on the admissions committee.

BreeAnna Groves, daughter of Bill and Teena Groves of Springfield, was elected to serve as volunteer coordinator and on the community service and year four curriculum committees.

Yuri Fedorovich, son of Irene Federovich of Marion and Don Wiegand of Chesterfield, Mo., was elected to serve on the doctoring committee. 

Dan Summers, son of William and Linda Summers of Nashville, was elected to serve on the educational policy committee. 

Alan Sutton, son of Ken and Alma Sutton of Burlington, Iowa, was elected to serve on the information management policy committee.

Samantha Cravens, daughter of Kevin and Suzette Cravens of Geneseo, was elected to serve on the student progress committee.

Shelby Spierling, daughter of Todd and Kara Spierling of Byron and Tammy Russell of Winnebago, was elected to serve on the student handbook committee.

Jordan Lange, son of David and Rise Lange of Champaign, was elected to serve on the year one curriculum committee.

Kristin Terry, daughter of Walter Terry of Marissa and Linda Beierman of Belleville, was elected to serve on the year one curriculum committee.
