SIU med school to display Enos school artwork

Artwork by Enos Elementary School students will be exhibited Thursday, March 20 through Wednesday, April 2 in the main lobby (second floor) of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, 801 N. Rutledge St., Springfield.

The exhibit consists of more than 60 pieces of art created by Enos students in kindergarten through fifth grade. It will be open to the public during the School’s regular business hours, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. weekdays. A reception will be held for the young artists and their families at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 2.

This is the 18th year for the exhibit. Enos has been SIU’s “adopted school” in Springfield School District 186’s business partner program since 1985. The art exhibit is one of many ongoing activities for Enos students as part of the Adopt-A-School Community Outreach Program presented by SIU and its employees. These activities range from mentoring with a student who needs a positive role model, reading to a classroom, donating school supplies and reading materials, to delivering nutritious snacks or holiday crafts.
