Enos Students’ Artwork to Be Displayed at SIU Med School

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine will host an art exhibit featuring Enos Elementary School students’ artwork Wednesday, March 9 through Tuesday, March 22. The works of art will be on display in the main lobby (second floor) of the school, 801 N. Rutledge St., Springfield.

The exhibit consists of 85 pieces of art created by Enos students in kindergarten through fifth grade. It will be open to the public during the school’s regular business hours, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., weekdays. The medical school will also sponsor a reception for the young artists and their families at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22.

This is the 20th year for the exhibit. Enos has been SIU’s “adopted school” in Springfield School District 186’s business partner program since 1985. The art exhibit is one of many ongoing activities for Enos students as part of the Adopt-A-School Community Outreach Program presented by SIU and its employees. These activities include mentoring students who need a positive role model, reading to a class, school supply and winter clothing drives, and delivering nutritious snacks and holiday crafts.
