SIU Med School Invites Health Care Providers to the Wound Care MICROposium
An interactive, educational mini-symposium, focusing on the latest advancements in wound care will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 15, at Illinois Education Association in Springfield. The event is sponsored by Southern Illinois University School of Medicine’s Institute for Plastic Surgery, Memorial Wound Healing Center and Memorial Medical Center.
The concept of a MICROposium or ‘mini-symposium’ allows for greater breadth in topics. This year, the event will focus on wound care and prevention, with a focus on the latest advancements in the field from the clinical and quality perspectives. Faculty presenters will touch on the latest in wound care technologies and therapeutics, and the event will also include an interactive vendor village.
The daylong conference is open to any health care providers interested in wound care. This includes nurses, physicians, dietitians, clinical nurse specialists, nursing home administrators and professionals, home health staff, social workers and licensed professional counselors, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Wound care equipment and product exhibitors will be on site. A continental breakfast and hot lunch will be served. The cost is $100 for 6.0 contact hours, two meals and all materials.
