SIU Medicine's message about the executive order on immigration:

We at SIU Medicine are extremely concerned about the executive order and its potential implications for our faculty, staff, learners, patients and colleagues.  We have numerous international employees and learners who may be particularly concerned by these recent events.  Currently, we are not aware of any members of the SIU Medicine family affected by the executive order, but we will continue to provide our support and have encouraged our employees to also do so.

SIU Medicine is proud of its diversity: cultural, ethnic, religious, gender or lifestyle or other distinction. We value inclusiveness, and we respect all opinions in our daily work and in our vision for the future.  Above all, we value equity.  Our diverse faculty, staff and learners enrich SIU Medicine with their skills and abilities, their compassion for their patients and co-workers and display the utmost professionalism, empathy and care for those around them.  Please see our newest video at http://bit.ly/2kkhYiF that highlights our values of diversity, inclusion and equity.
