SIU Med School Sponsors Ethnic Heritage Day

An Ethnic Heritage Day celebration featuring Italy will be held Tuesday, June 15 at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The event will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby of the School's main building at 801 N. Rutledge St., Springfield.

The program includes a short talk by John Bucari, consular correspondent for the Illinois Italian Consulate General in Chicago. There also be cultural displays and artifacts provided by Sandy Pecori and Nora Hoover as well as Italian food.

Ethnic Heritage Day celebrations are held monthly to share information about various ethnic cultures. The events are organized by the SIU Diversity, Multicultural and Minority Affairs office.
