SIU School of Medicine Employees Honored for Service

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has honored 128 employees in Springfield, Carbondale, Decatur and Quincy for their years of service.

Thirty-year awards went to Donald E. Biggerstaff, professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery; Dr. Elvin G. Zook, professor and chair of the plastic and reconstructive surgery division, and Ronald A. Browning, Ph.D., professor of physiology (Carbondale).

Twenty-five year awards went to Nancy M. Calvert, planning coordinator in Student Affairs; Gail D. Clark, accountant in Financial Affairs; Mary Lynne Cleverdon, business manager in Medical Humanities; Richard L. Coulson, Ph.D., professor of physiology (Carbondale); Jon E. Holcomb, biomedical research administrator in Research Services; David G. King, Ph.D., associate professor of anatomy (Carbondale); Dr. Horst R. Konrad, professor of otolaryngology; Kathryn A. Marcus, computer information specialist in Financial Affairs; Marilyn J. Marsaglia, purchasing officer in Financial Affairs; Cheryl A. McGill, director of patient business services, SIU Physicians & Surgeons; Shirley Jean McGlinn, instructor in MEDPREP (Carbondale); Edward J. Moticka, Ph.D., professor of medical microbiology and immunology and associate dean for research and faculty affairs; Connie S. Pillsbury, medical center administrator in Surgery; Leslie Randolph, office systems specialist in the Center for Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders; John Record, assistant dean for rural and alumni affairs; Edith Y. Routé, medical records technician, SIU Physicians & Surgeons; Susan J. Sarwinski, researcher in Pharmacology; Rhonda Seeber, assistant to the associate provost (Carbondale); Joan M. Smith, administrative clerk in Obstetrics and Gynecology; Dr. David E. Steward, professor and chair of internal medicine; Mary L. Stjern, program services specialist in Psychiatry; Pamela S. Webber, microfilm operator/technician in Information Resources; and Nancy Severa Zimmers, director of communications and public relations.

Twelve 20-year awards, forty 15-year awards and fifty-one 10-year awards also were awarded.
