SIU Med School Presents Breast Cancer Awareness Program

Breast cancer awareness is the topic of a free, public program presented this month by The Breast Center at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The program will be presented from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 28, at the Greater All Nations Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 1000 S. 19th Street, Springfield.

The featured speakers are Dr. Elizabeth Peralta, a surgical oncologist and assistant professor of surgery at SIU School of Medicine; Kendra M. Muhammand, Mrs. Illinois International 2004; and Doris Turner, chief for the Center for Minority Health Services for the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Transportation is available by calling the Church at 528-3321. Refreshments and door prizes follow the program. For more information, call the Breast Center at SIU, 545-7432 weekdays.
